Data governance
Citrix Secure Access sends application events and metrics to the Telemetry Analytics Platform (TAP) server. TAP is a Citrix-proprietary server platform that collects and stores events and metrics, for product improvement.
Points to note:
- Telemetry sent by Citrix Secure Access is sent only to TAP, and not with any third-party vendor. Also, Citrix Secure Access does not share any personal information of the user to TAP.
To prevent the telemetry from being sent to TAP, contact Citrix Support.
- Upon installation of Citrix Secure Access on the Windows client, the files are added to the Windows Firewall allow list. Citrix Secure Access collects product configuration and usage data to improve client experience.
Data collection
TAP collects and stores the telemetry sent from Citrix Secure Access based on the following categories:
- Geo location: Country, continent and by state in larger countries.
- Client version and client type: Windows, Linux
- VPN URLs accessed: URLs accessed, MAC address pattern.
TAP collects metadata and telemetry logs whenever the following features are enabled or disabled:
- Edge WebView
- Domain-joined machines
- WFP
- Microsoft Intune
- Always On
- Always On service
- Split tunneling
- DNS / split DNS
- Intranet IP addresses
- Local LAN access
- SSO
- GSLB
- HTTPOnly cookie
- NetScaler Gateway and Secure Private Access deployments
- DNS truncation fix
