NetScaler Gateway consolidates remote access infrastructure to provide single sign-on across all applications whether in a data center, in a cloud, or delivered as SaaS. It allows people to access any app, from any device, through a single URL. NetScaler Gateway is easy to deploy and simple to administer. The most typical deployment configuration is to locate the NetScaler Gateway appliance in the DMZ. You can install multiple NetScaler Gateway appliances in the network for more complex deployments.

NetScaler Gateway and gateway appliance are used interchangeably in the NetScaler and NetScaler Gateway documentation. You can use NetScaler Gateway in tandem with NetScaler to control and manage your remote access infrastructure.
