General Overview
What is the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS)?

Can I upgrade to a FIPS validated version firmware from a non-FIPS version of firmware?
No. FIPS validated firmware is a separate image. Software version upgrade from non-FIPS version to FIPS version is not supported. Also, the FIPS software version cannot be downgraded or upgraded to a non-FIPS software version.
